My stack of paintings and the first two 12 x 12 acrylic coelacanth pictures.

Allenypterus was a little coelacanth around 0.2m long that lived in the USA.

Rebellatrix was a fast coelacanth from Canada. It had a forked tail.

purplerubyred:

Latimeria Chalumnae or Gombessa, the blue & white coelacanth from Africa. This fish sparked scientific interest in the lobe fin, so I painted this one all nerdy like.

Latimeria Menadoensis or Raja Laut, the brown & gold coelacanth from Indonesia. Those who have swam with them said they sparkle with what looks like gold flecks. He’s naturally all blinged out. Shiny shiny!
